Valencia County Jail Mugshots
Valencia County JailTracker displays booking-style photos when the public profile has an image available. The inspected agency configuration showed disableImages=false, and active records included hasImage flags with frontal image file references. In the public detail view, the image appears with the detainee's booking record and can open in a larger photo dialog when the secure image loads. The county does not publish a separate daily mugshot gallery or a stand-alone recent-bookings photo page. The roster is the first source for a current Valencia County jail mugshot.
The booking photo is part of a record set. It may sit beside the intake date, status, gender, offender ID, permanent ID, charge rows, case numbers, bond type, bond amount, and public physical descriptors. The county's detainee information page allows public disclosure of criminal charges and bond amounts but states that housing, classification, mental-health, and medical status are not public. That same boundary applies when a request seeks more than the booking photo itself.
Find Valencia County Booking Photos
The search path is narrow because Valencia County uses the current JailTracker roster rather than a photo archive. Start with the official roster, open the matching person, and check whether an image appears on the profile. If the profile has no visible photo, or if the person has left the current public list, use the county's records request channel and describe the record as a booking photo, mugshot, or booking image for a named person and date. For current bond or charge confirmation, call the detention Records Manager before relying on a screen capture.
- Open the Valencia County JailTracker roster.
- Search by name, offender ID, permanent ID, gender, or intake date range.
- Open the public profile and look for the booking-style photo above the detail tables.
- If no photo appears, file a request through Valencia County NextRequest or contact detention records.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, switch to the NMCD offender search instead of the county roster.
The JailTracker roster interface is the public search screen used to locate current Valencia County booking photos.
Because the screen is tied to current custody, it should not be treated as a full historical mugshot archive.
Valencia County Mugshot Record Fields
A booking photo does not stand alone. The related public profile gives context about why the person is in the county jail and how the booking is tracked. The sample record inventory found image flags, agency and permanent identifiers, name, gender, supervision status, book date, release date when present, and detail tables. CriminalOffenses rows showed charge descriptions, statutes, case numbers, control numbers, bond types, and amounts. AdditionalInfo fields showed public descriptors such as age, race, height, weight, eye color, hair color, body build, and scheduled release date if one was present.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Photo / image | Frontal booking-style image when the record has an image and public images are enabled. |
| Intake Date | Date and time tied to the jail booking event. |
| Status | Active custody status and charge-level status fields. |
| CriminalOffenses | Charge text, statute, case number, bond type, and bond amount. |
| AdditionalInfo | Age, race, height, weight, hair, eye, and body-build descriptors. |
| Withheld | Housing, classification, medical, and mental-health information are not disclosed to the public. |
Are Valencia County Mugshots Public
New Mexico public-records law starts with broad access, but not every law-enforcement or detention detail must be released in full. The practical Valencia County rule is records-based: if a booking image appears in JailTracker, the image is publicly visible while the roster entry is visible. If the booking image is not online or a copy is needed for a record purpose, request it under IPRA and expect review for lawful redaction or withholding. Medical, mental-health, and certain law-enforcement records can be protected, and the county has already stated that housing and classification details are not public.
Key Statutes:
NMSA 1978, Section 14-2-1 is New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act access rule, with exceptions for protected records.
NMSA 1978, Section 14-2-6 defines public records broadly as records held by or for a public body and tied to public business.
New Mexico expungement law allows qualifying records to be removed from public view through a court process.
Valencia County Mugshot Retention
The JailTracker agency configuration inspected on June 22, 2026 included a releasedRetentionDays setting of 400, but the public agency was also configured as showCurrentOffendersOnly=true. That means the public screen behaves as a current roster. It would be inaccurate to promise that a released person's Valencia County jail mugshot remains public for 400 days. Once a person drops from the visible roster, the better path is a public-records request for a booking record or photo, with enough details to let county staff identify the record.
What is and is not public: JailTracker may show the photo, charges, intake date, and bond fields. Valencia County does not disclose housing, classification, mental-health, or medical status to the general public.
Request a Valencia County Mugshot
For a booking photo that is not visible online, use Valencia County NextRequest and identify the person, date, record type, and agency as clearly as possible. If the request relates to a current detainee, the detention Records Manager at 505-565-8900 ext. 1 can help confirm charge and bond information and route records questions. The sheriff's office can also handle local law-enforcement records checks and reports, with the sheriff page listing records checks and case reports at $1.00 per page. Requesters should not ask for medical, mental-health, housing, or classification details because the county says those are not public.
The NextRequest portal is the county's online public-records request channel.
A clear request helps staff decide whether the responsive record is a jail booking photo, a sheriff report, or a court record.
Valencia County Mugshot Removal
Official county research did not locate a Valencia County web form that promises mugshot removal after release. New Mexico Courts materials explain that qualifying arrest and conviction records may be petitioned for expungement under the Criminal Record Expungement Act. Expungement can remove qualifying records from public view, but it does not automatically control federal records, tribal records, or every private copy already taken from a public page. For a case outcome, dismissal, or sealing question, the court record is the controlling path, and the court-record side is separate from the jail roster photo.
Commercial pay-to-remove mugshot sites are not official Valencia County channels. The records-focused route is to confirm the court disposition, pursue expungement if eligible, and request correction or removal from the agency or publisher that controls the record. Court status after a booking can be checked through Valencia County court records after a jail arrest.
State and Federal Booking Photos
Central New Mexico Correctional Facility is in Los Lunas, but it is a state prison. Its inmates are searched through NMCD, not through Valencia County JailTracker. State prison profiles can carry different photo and custody information because NMCD tracks sentenced prisoners, reception, classification, and supervision status. Federal custody is different again. BOP's public inmate locator shows standard identity, register, release, and location fields, but it does not publish federal mugshots in the ordinary result. ICE ODLS is a location and custody-status search, not a public photo source.
| Custody type | Photo path | Lookup |
|---|---|---|
| County jail | JailTracker if image is available | Valencia County Adult DC NM roster |
| State prison | NMCD profile rules | NMCD offender search |
| Federal prison | No standard public BOP mugshot | BOP inmate locator |
| Immigration detention | No ODLS mugshot source | ICE detainee locator |
